Junior cricket is strong at Meraloma

The future of cricket is strong at the Meraloma club after another successful year for our junior cricket program.  We were excited to work with over 50 junior players this year, introducing a number of new boys and girls to our great game, and developing the skills of our returning players.

The program took a huge step forward with the introduction of our new junior hardball team this year.  It has been wonderful to see the kids who started with us 4 years ago move from kanga to hardball!  We have already graduated our first player into the Women's team (congratulations Jazzy Oldham!), and soon we'll have our first junior playing for the men's 4th team.

The juniors celebrated their season on Saturday, July 29 with one last game at Brockton in Stanley Park, followed by a family BBQ in the Pavilion.  Below are a few photos of the end-of-season BBQ, with more photos and other moments from the junior season available online (courtesy of 21stops.com)

Many thanks to the volunteer coaches and all of the parents for making this another fantastic season of cricket.  We look forward to seeing everyone back at Connaught in 2018!
